I Love Me, Myself & I

Updated: May 5, 2022

What’s the first thing that comes to mind when you hear the term self-love? Do you think it means dressing up and looking your best; having nice things to say about yourself to others, glorifying yourself on social media so that others think you have a wonderful life style to prove your happiness and that you are in total awe of yourself? Or does the term itself seem a bit selfish and self loathing?

Well there’s nothing wrong with simply loving yourself. Loving yourself enough to not only put others before yourself, but thanking yourself for having a loving heart to do so. Loving who you are, how you were made, your family and the space you were born in, not allowing the persona, perception and false reality of others to make you feel in adequate. Appreciating the small things that make you different from everyone else, believing you are enough and worthy, accepting your shortfalls and trusting that life gives you opportunities for a do over. I know all of this seems like words on a page, easy to do, but for some it’s not so easy. Just remember that even the prettiest wish they were prettier, the short wish they were taller, the heavy wish they were smaller - so on and so forth. While we are all different, we are individually beautifully and wonderfully made. So try looking at yourself in the mirror daily, giving yourself three positive affirmations. These affirmations allow your brain to retain a pattern to look for, the positive. At the end of the day, there is no one else on earth like you, and although we may take different roads, we are all on this journey together. Now that’s pretty awesome! So remember to send positive vibes and energy to others, and work on being confident within yourself.

YOU GOT THIS!
