Confidence does not always look like walking into a room and having everyone notice you.
Sometimes confidence is quiet.
It can look like raising your hand even when you are nervous. It can mean looking in the mirror and choosing not to criticize yourself. It can mean trying something new, speaking kindly, asking for help, or being proud of yourself for making it through a difficult day.
Confidence is not about believing that you are better than everyone else. It is about knowing that you are valuable, capable, and worthy even when you are still learning and growing.
Every girl deserves the chance to build that kind of confidence.
That is why Hey Doll! created this simple 7 Day Confidence Challenge for girls ages 10 to 15. It is easy enough to complete during a busy school week, but meaningful enough to help you begin seeing yourself in a more positive way.
Parents, teachers, mentors, and women can enjoy this challenge too. Confidence is something we continue to practice at every age.
You do not have to change your whole life in one week. You are simply going to take one small confidence building action each day.
Small actions may not seem important at first, but they can slowly change the way you think, feel, and show up in the world.
Are you ready?
Let us begin.
What Does Confidence Really Mean?
Confidence means trusting yourself.
It means believing that you can learn, improve, make good choices, and recover when something does not go as planned.
A confident girl does not have to know every answer. She does not have to be the loudest person in the room. She does not have to wear the most popular clothes, have the most followers, or receive attention from everyone around her.
Real confidence begins on the inside.
It grows when you speak kindly to yourself. It grows when you keep a promise you made to yourself. It grows when you try again after making a mistake.
Confidence also grows when you stop comparing your life to someone else’s life.
There will always be someone who looks different, learns differently, has different talents, or seems to be ahead of you in some way. That does not make your gifts less important.
You have your own personality, purpose, talents, ideas, and path.
The goal of this challenge is not to turn you into a different person. The goal is to help you appreciate the person you already are while continuing to grow.
Day 1: Say Something Kind to Yourself
Today, begin by paying attention to the way you speak to yourself.
Many girls say things to themselves that they would never say to a friend.
You may look in the mirror and immediately notice something you do not like. You may make a mistake and tell yourself that you are not smart. You may compare yourself to another girl and decide that you are not pretty, talented, interesting, or good enough.
Those thoughts can slowly weaken your confidence.
Today, replace one negative thought with a kind and truthful statement.
Stand in front of a mirror or sit somewhere quiet. Look at yourself and say something positive out loud.
You can say:
I am proud of how hard I am trying.
I am becoming more confident every day.
I am smart, capable, and worthy.
I deserve to speak to myself with kindness.
I do not have to be perfect to be valuable.
Your kind statement does not need to sound fancy. It simply needs to be honest.
You may not completely believe it the first time you say it. Keep saying it anyway.
Confidence often begins with practicing new thoughts until they start to feel natural.
Your words matter, especially the words you say to yourself.
Day 2: Try Something New
Trying something new can feel uncomfortable because you do not know exactly what will happen.
You might worry that you will make a mistake. You might wonder what other people will think. You may decide not to try because you do not want to feel embarrassed.
Today, choose one small new thing to try.
You could try a new hairstyle, read a different type of book, introduce yourself to someone, learn a dance, taste a new food, join a club, draw something, answer a question in class, or help prepare a meal.
The activity does not have to be big or scary.
The goal is to remind yourself that you are capable of stepping outside of what feels familiar.
You may discover something you love. You may also discover that the activity is not for you. Both results are completely fine.
Trying something new is not only about being successful. It is about giving yourself permission to learn.
Every expert was once a beginner.
Every talented singer once struggled with a note. Every great writer once stared at a blank page. Every athlete once had to learn the basic steps.
Do not judge yourself for being new at something.
Be proud that you were brave enough to begin.
Day 3: Organize One Space
Your surroundings can affect how you feel.
When your room, backpack, desk, or bathroom counter is cluttered, your mind may start to feel cluttered too. You might feel distracted, frustrated, or unsure about where to begin.
Today, choose one small space to organize.
Do not try to clean your entire room unless you truly want to. Pick one area that can be completed without becoming overwhelming.
You could organize:
Your school backpack
One desk drawer
Your nightstand
Your bathroom products
Your shoes
Your book collection
Your phone apps
Your study area
Your jewelry or accessories
As you organize, remove anything that does not belong in that space. Throw away trash, place items where they belong, and create a simple system that you can continue using.
When you finish, pause and look at what you accomplished.
Organizing one space may seem like a small task, but completing it can help you feel responsible and in control. You made a decision, took action, and created a result you can see.
That is confidence in action.
You do not need to control everything in your life. Sometimes it helps to take care of the small things that are within your control.
Day 4: Give Someone a Compliment
Confidence is not only about feeling good about yourself. It also allows you to notice and celebrate the good in other people.
A truly confident girl does not need to put someone else down to feel important.
Today, give one sincere compliment.
You could compliment a friend, sibling, classmate, teacher, parent, or someone who may not receive kind words very often.
You might say:
I like how you included everyone today.
You are really creative.
Your presentation was great.
You always make people feel welcome.
I love your style.
You worked really hard on that.
Thank you for being kind to me.
Try to make your compliment specific and honest.
Notice how the person reacts. A few kind words can brighten someone’s entire day.
Complimenting another person does not take anything away from you. Kindness is not something that runs out. There is enough room for you to shine and for someone else to shine too.
The strongest girls know how to cheer for themselves while also cheering for others.
Day 5: Drink More Water
Confidence and self care are connected.
When you take care of your body, you send yourself an important message. You are saying, “I matter, and my health deserves attention.”
Today’s challenge is to drink more water.
Bring a water bottle with you if possible. Take small sips throughout the day. You can add fruit for flavor or use a fun cup that reminds you to keep drinking.
Water helps support your body while you learn, play, move, think, and rest.
This challenge is not about criticizing your body or trying to make it look a certain way. It is about appreciating what your body does for you every day.
Your body carries you through school. It allows you to laugh, dance, create, hug people, explore new places, and experience the world.
You deserve to care for it.
Other simple forms of self care can include getting enough sleep, taking a shower, brushing your teeth, stretching, spending time away from your phone, and eating foods that help you feel energized.
Self care does not have to be expensive. It is not only about buying products or having a perfect routine.
Self care means making choices that support your well being.
Day 6: Write Down One Goal
A goal gives you something meaningful to work toward.
Today, choose one goal and write it down.
Your goal could be related to school, friendship, creativity, health, family, faith, sports, reading, saving money, or learning a new skill.
You might write:
I want to improve my math grade.
I want to read one book this month.
I want to become more comfortable speaking in front of people.
I want to save money for something special.
I want to practice drawing three times this week.
I want to become a better friend.
I want to spend less time comparing myself to people online.
After you write your goal, choose one action that can help you move closer to it.
For example, if your goal is to improve your math grade, your first action could be asking your teacher one question or studying for fifteen minutes.
If your goal is to become a better friend, your first action could be checking on someone who has been quiet lately.
A goal can feel overwhelming when you only focus on the final result. It becomes easier when you break it into small steps.
You do not need to accomplish everything today.
You simply need to decide what matters to you and take one step in that direction.
Day 7: Celebrate Yourself
You made it to Day 7.
Today is about recognizing your effort.
Many people quickly move from one responsibility to the next without stopping to appreciate what they have completed. They focus on what went wrong or what still needs to be done.
Today, pause and celebrate yourself.
Think about each challenge you completed this week.
You spoke kindly to yourself.
You tried something new.
You organized one space.
You complimented someone.
You cared for your body by drinking water.
You wrote down a goal.
Those actions deserve to be recognized.
Celebrating yourself does not mean bragging or believing that you are perfect. It means allowing yourself to feel proud.
You can celebrate by playing your favorite song, writing yourself a letter, taking a photo, doing a happy dance, enjoying a favorite snack, wearing something that makes you feel good, or sharing your accomplishment with someone you trust.
You can also write down three things you are proud of.
They do not have to be huge achievements.
Maybe you got out of bed on a difficult morning. Maybe you completed an assignment you wanted to avoid. Maybe you remained kind when you were frustrated. Maybe you asked for help.
Your progress counts, even when other people do not see it.
What Happens After the Challenge?
The challenge may be complete, but your confidence journey is just beginning.
You can repeat these seven activities whenever you need a fresh start. You can complete one challenge every day, choose one each week, or create your own confidence activities.
You could also invite a friend, sibling, parent, or mentor to complete the challenge with you.
Ask each other questions such as:
What made you feel proud this week?
What new thing did you try?
What kind statement did you tell yourself?
What goal are you working toward?
How did you encourage someone else?
Talking about confidence can help everyone feel supported and understood.
Remember that confidence will not feel the same every day.
Some days you may feel brave, excited, and ready for anything. Other days you may feel unsure or discouraged.
That does not mean you have lost your confidence.
Confidence is still there. You may simply need to slow down, remember what you have already overcome, and take another small step.
Confidence Is Built One Choice at a Time
There is no perfect way to become confident.
You do not need a perfect life, perfect grades, perfect skin, perfect clothes, or a perfect social media page.
You need patience with yourself.
You need the courage to keep learning.
You need people who remind you of your value.
You also need moments that allow you to explore who you are becoming.

Your Confidence Challenge Promise
Before you leave, make this promise to yourself:
I will speak to myself with kindness.
I will allow myself to try new things.
I will take care of my space and my body.
I will encourage other people without comparing myself to them.
I will set goals that matter to me.
I will celebrate my progress, even when it feels small.
I will remember that I am growing every day.
You do not have to wait until you feel completely ready.
Start where you are.
Use what you have.
Take one small step.
Confidence is not something that belongs only to certain girls. It belongs to every girl who is willing to believe that she can learn, grow, and become stronger.
That includes you.
You are capable.
You are valuable.
You are still becoming.
And that is something worth celebrating. #HeyDollstrong
