My Pastor said “Life is nothing but a vapor...“ Since the induction of 2020, life, as we have known it to be, has drastically and dramatically changed. Depending on how you see it, it could be both a good and a bad thing. Bad that we don't have the opportunity to hang out with friends like before, visit those closest to us more freely, or to participate in social interactions that helps to keep us going. Some may call it challenging, I’ll call it acceptance...growth. Blessings come in many forms. These trials are allowing us to spend more time with those who are near and dear and, in most cases, living in the same house with us. We've been busy, living our lives, seeing each other in passing, while under the same roof. Now, we've been forced to stop. Believe it or not, in our daily, boring, "quarantined" proclivities, we're still growing in many ways. We are reading more books, doing more soul-searching, becoming more creative, saving money, realizing that material wealth has no value. It has allowed us to grow close, thinking about others, more than ourselves. What this time has taught me is my glass is half full; there’s light at the end of every tunnel. Positive, right? The grass may be greener on the other side, but, I have learned to depend on faith, to appreciate life, and to be thankful for where I am, right now.
Tomorrow isn't promised. There are many others who aren't here to finish telling us their stories; their time on earth was shorter than we'd expected. So, like my pastor said, “Life is nothing but a vapor....” It's true. It's quick and it'll pass you by. Let's agree to be grateful, glad, rejoicing in it.
